New intranet with same design keeps a seamless user experience

Sogeti develops SharePoint based Intranet for the European Fund Administration.

Background

The client wanted to migrate its intranet platform hosted on SharePoint Server 2010 to SharePoint Server 2013.

An analysis of the platform was carried out in mid-February by Sogeti’s technical team. The main points to be kept in mind during this migration phase was: Portability of the specific application ‘EFA TimeSheet’, portability of custom web parts, migration of space dedicated for managers based on the site template ‘Meeting WorkSpace’ and migration of the specific workflow approval to two states.

Solution

EFA aimed to migrate its Intranet website in SharePoint 2010 to SharePoint 2013 to take advantage of the new SharePoint 2013 features and in particular those centered around search functionalities. Sogeti created the design of the new architecture in SharePoint 2013 and migrated the old custom applications (code optimization) to SharePoint 2013 along with all the existing content.

Benefits

The new solution developed by Sogeti, uses all the new SharePoint 2013 functionalities and search in particular is fully integrated. The graphics of the existing intranet were retained in the new Intranet to keep a seamless user experience. Sogeti was positioned as an experienced partner of reference on this need.
