Sogeti & esports

From organizing offline and online game nights at our offices for years, to sponsoring three esports teams, gaming has always been part of life at Sogeti.

For us, as a technology provider, esports has an increasingly important role at several levels: for colleagues to enjoy and meet each other, and as a driver of business innovation.

The esports opportunity

COVID-19 has accelerated many long-standing trends—and the growing popularity of gaming and esports is no exception.

As the pandemic delayed production schedules for traditional content and prompts the cancelation of many professional sporting events, the supersized growth of esports is only expected to continue. In fact, industry experts estimate that viewership could reach 646 million by 2023, outpacing traditional television and film viewership growth in some markets.

In a recent Esports Insider article, Darren Baker, Global Intel Alliance Director at Sogeti, spoke about our esports-focused hackathon and how tech is pushing and changing esports.
