Better patient care and administrative functions using SharePoint Online

Background

A County Council in Sweden wanted to control the process for creating governing documents for both patient care and administrative functions as well as enabling advanced search function to find these documents.

Solution

Sogeti proposed a document management system and search solution based on Office 365 and SharePoint Online  to store governing and other types of documents. It uses advanced workflows and metadata structures combined  with a highly customized search experience. By creating a number of controlled workflows Sogeti controlled how the documents are produced and maintained over  time. We also provides a  number of automatic metadata that enhance the search ability and reliability of the documents. The search solution is a key factor in finding documents both through classic search but also by navigating through the metadata structures of the solution and thereby finding documents marked with the metadata.

Benefits

The solution will benefit both patients and the county council by providing a more secure way of handling patient routines and a better control over the governing documents (e.g. routines, plans and strategies). Since it will be easier to find the correct treatment routine, less time will be spent on finding or recreating documents.
