Sogeti Implemented Azure Technology for a Sweden-based energy company

Background

The client - a progressive energy company was always interested in exploring candidate solutions for optimization of the IT platform. Cloud Solutions was selected as a candidate and Sogeti Architect was asked to provide advice and guidance.

Solution

Sogeti evaluated and implemented several Azure technologies, some of which were - Service Bus Queues and Relays, Web Apps, SQL Databases, Marketplace PaaS, Active Directory and Visual Studio Team Services etc.

Benefits

The client adapted Azure services (primarily PaaS services) as it proved to be cost efficient solutions and required little maintenance. This enabled them to concentrate on business and produce good solutions rather than focusing on the infrastructure. By utilizing the cloud, the client saved costs and could reduce the time to market.

The client is an energy company owned by the four municipalities of Skåne Lund, Eslöv, Hörby and Lomma. The activities cover the generation, distribution and sale of electricity, gas, heating and cooling, and energy-related services in service, communication and contracts.

The company has around 400 employees and about 300 000 customers.
