Sogeti virtualises car usage with IBM Bluemix based mobile app for Valeo

Sogeti helped Valeo to embark on a digital transfomation journey by building a full service platform based on our existing SC2M platform as well as a mobile app to manage car bookings, fleet monitoring and driver profiling.

Background

In July 2015, Capgemini Consulting set up a partnership with Valeo in order to provide a joint solution on connected cars.

Solution

Sogeti built a full service platform based on our existing SC2M platform as well as a mobile app to manage car bookings, fleet monitoring, driver profiling, and access to the car via a virtualized key on the drivers’ smartphones. The business model is SaaS based on the number of connected car per month. This project is hosted on IBM Bluemix, using their Devops toolkit for continuous deployment.

Benefits

Our solution provided the client full digital experience for car usage with mobile/online bookings. There was no need any more to go to a physical place to get the cars’ keys to access the car.

There is potential for extension with Total for linking this app to the fuel credit cards. Another potential application is with Legrand, for domestic use and virtualization of households’ keys using the same mobile app/service platform
