Big savings thanks to offshore resourcing and flexible test team

Sogeti takes care of the Acceptance Test including Test Automation for wilhelmsen Ships Services (WSS).

Background

It is currently the most complex and biggest IFS project in Europe. The client wanted to migrate from IFS 2003 to IFS 8. However, they faced challenges such as Limited testing experience, Stretched business resources, “Big Bang” deployment across 110 companies in 70 countries and several testing cycles.

Solution

Sogeti’s mission was to take charge and ownership of the Customer’s Acceptance Test with a high degree of Test Automation. The Functional test team with its in-depth business understanding automated 50% of the client’s high priority scenarios, performed performance testing of network, middleware & application and conducted overall Test Management. The entire testing was managed by a team of 22 Sogeti resources and 30 client resources.

Benefits

The professionalized Test and QA process gave management the right input to make decisions. There was a reduced strain on business resources due to the flexibility of the test team and the client also saved up to 70% due to offshore resourcing and test tooling / license management in the cloud.
