A value-driven framework for quality engineering

TMAP body of knowledge offers knowledge and tools. To build in and guarantee the quality of IT systems, TMAP is used as the basis, for example, the Gen AI Amplifier from Sogeti (an AI-based service that is already operational) has TMAP built in, ensuring that quality engineering principles are integrated seamlessly into AI-driven projects. And TMAP offers a wide range of visions, techniques and tools to test and improve the quality of Gen AI, such as the application of test design techniques but also a structured framework for creating the right prompts.

Today, businesses need quality at speed. We know it’s sometimes not possible to find or fix everything; our approach is now about how much quality to aim for. 1995 – The beginning of TMAP

Where structured testing began.

We laid the foundation of our knowledge base with the publication of Testing According to TMAP. This book introduced a structured approach to software testing that quickly gained traction in the industry. Many of the principles outlined in that first edition remain relevant today, forming the philosophical backbone of our evolving framework.

2000 – Training the first testers

Laying the foundation for global certification.

Recognizing the need for practical application, we launched our first TMAP training courses. These early programs focused on equipping testers with structured methodologies and hands-on skills. Over time, our training expanded globally, and today, TMAP-certified professionals can be found across four continents, contributing to Agile and DevOps teams worldwide.

2014 – Going digital

Knowledge goes online, accessible to all.

We embraced the digital era by launching the TMAP website, transforming how we share knowledge. This shift allowed us to make our expertise accessible to a broader audience, beyond books and classrooms. The website became the central hub for the framework — a living, breathing platform where updates, tools, and insights are just a click away.

2020 – From testing to quality

Embracing quality engineering for modern teams.

A pivotal moment in our evolution: we published a book with quality — not testing — on the cover. This symbolic change reflected a broader shift in the industry and in our thinking, from isolated testing practices to integrated quality engineering. It marked our commitment to supporting entire teams — not just testers — in building quality into every stage of the development lifecycle.
