As a banking organization committed to customer-friendliness, reliability is critical for ASN Bank. Smooth, error-free communication, transactions, and internal processes all depend on high-performing IT systems that are consistently available.
To support this, ASN Bank established a dedicated Observability Team. This team empowers other departments to monitor the performance of the IT stack and conduct in-depth problem analysis using the Observability Platform. Beyond monitoring, the team provides strategic guidance on optimizing the use of various technologies, manages the platform infrastructure, and trains employees to use it effectively.
By enabling better visibility into workloads and fostering proactive responses to disruptions, the Observability Team plays a key role in maintaining operational excellence and enhancing the customer experience.
ASN Bank was in search of the ideal composition for its young Observability Team. The team needed additional expertise and stronger collaboration. Replacing retiring members proved difficult, and the lack of cohesion impacted overall performance.

To ensure a strong cultural fit and effective collaboration, ASN Bank expanded its Observability Team step by step. Close cooperation with Sogeti was key. Together, they held in-depth discussions to define the ideal team structure—focusing not only on technical expertise but also on team dynamics and cultural alignment. The collaboration was smooth and agile. With short communication lines and proactive input from Sogeti’s Lead Engineer, ASN Bank received valuable guidance on shaping the team vision with the right mix of technology and talent. Thanks to the strong rapport between Sogeti engineers and internal staff, the team evolved into a cohesive unit that shares feedback openly and works seamlessly together.
The impact of the enhanced Observability Team is clear. The IT organization now has greater visibility into its landscape. Issues are detected immediately through accurate monitoring and intuitive dashboards, enabling rapid resolution.
Through infrastructure optimization, proactive monitoring, and refined alerting, the stability of the IT stack has significantly improved—resulting in reduced downtime and more efficient use of IT resources. For example, optimized data inflow has led to more accurate and efficient data collection. These improvements have also contributed to notable cost savings.
Beyond managing the Observability Platform, the team is actively involved in user enablement. By guiding and training internal teams, they help users get the most out of the platform. Looking ahead, the team will increasingly focus on this role—offering workshops and supporting business teams in building robust monitoring applications that integrate with the platform.
