Data with a duty of care

A global healthcare leader applies Gen AI to connect intelligence across research, engineering, testing, and care – and bring new confidence to clinical innovation.

A global healthcare leader applied Gen AI across research, engineering, and care to strengthen the foundations of modern medicine. With secure, domain-led Gen AI, the organization built a governed Gen AI framework that connects development and delivery units under a single, trusted model.

The first deployment, Smart Briefing, transformed how policy and medical teams prepare complex reports, reducing prep time by 70% and upping accuracy by 40%.

A Smart QA platform for MedTech increased test reliability by 40% and accelerated validation cycles. Lifecycle AI Search gave engineers instant access to verified design knowledge. At the clinical edge, SmartPump introduced real-time calibration and data capture in surgical care.

With governed Gen AI now embedded across its operations, the company delivers faster, traceable intelligence that strengthens every stage of global healthcare.

For one of the world’s largest healthcare organizations, early Gen AI experimentation had produced scattered proofs of concept without clear ownership or measurable outcomes. Strict regulatory requirements limited the use of external platforms, and intellectual property boundaries shaped how innovation could progress.

  • 70% faster, compliance-ready briefs for policy and medical affairs teams
  • Fully automated test case generation with 40% more accuracy for MedTech QA
  • Product lifecycle AI search helps engineers quickly reuse design intelligence
  • Calibration and transcription agents improve surgical accuracy at the edge

Sogeti collaborated with the client to redefine the approach: a shift from individual pilots to governed, domain-specific solutions designed inside the organization’s own secure environment. Custom accelerators such as knowledge mining and Generative Engine Optimization (GEO) created reusable building blocks for future projects. A shared foundation for responsible Gen AI development – reinforced with data integrity, auditability, and compliance.

Smart Briefing for reliable research and policymaking

The first initiative, Smart Briefing, tackled the strain of processing continuous policy and clinical updates. Government affairs and research teams are dealing with rising volumes of complex documents that demand speed and accuracy to keep up with increasing regulation.

An AI-driven platform was built to retrieve and structure content, with built-in validation and version control, for decision-ready summaries. Policy briefings would typically take weeks to put together but can now be generated in days – 70% faster and 60% more accurate.

Timely insight helps the organization communicate more consistently with regulators, public health agencies, and partner groups. Faster, evidence-based documentation supports better coordination on health policy and keeps regulatory pathways clear for lifesaving therapies to reach patients without delay.

Smart QA Platform for testing precision in MedTech development

In MedTech manufacturing, QA engineers responsible for verifying device performance manage heavy documentation workloads that require accuracy and traceability.

To alleviate that workload, the Smart QA Platform automated the design of test cases for CRM and SAP systems. It operated within the client’s internal Gen AI ecosystem under strict governance, embedding audit trails and proof logs for every generated output.

Automated test case generation achieved 100% coverage, and test case accuracy improved by 40%. Multiple teams across MedTech and digital surgery platforms were onboarded with continuous feedback loops. And QA engineers were able to integrate the platform into existing sprint cycles.

Medical technologies used by hospitals and clinicals worldwide are now significantly more reliable: devices move through testing and certification more efficiently, and healthcare providers receive safer, better-validated products in less time.

Lifecycle AI Search makes design history accessible

Engineering teams across multiple divisions depend on historic design data for reference and reuse. For example, every new device builds on insights from previous designs to improve accuracy and reduce the force needed in tip movement during tissue transection in laparoscopic surgery.

Historical knowledge is crucial, but data is dispersed across systems, and valuable design references are often inaccessible to new teams. Locating that information is time-consuming and inconsistent.

The Lifecycle AI Search initiative created a unified retrieval layer connecting Windchill Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) repositories and secure cloud storage. Metadata tagging, entity recognition, and semantic search allowed engineers to locate validated design elements quickly and accurately. Continuous feedback refined search relevance and improved reliability with every use.

Engineering teams having consistent access to proven design data improves the quality and continuity of product development. And clinical partners and hospitals benefit from medical devices built on validated design intelligence, which drives performance and safety.

SmartPump at the edge of surgical care

SmartPump extends the organization’s intelligence framework into real-time clinical practice. It uses an edge-based AI framework to assist clinicians during surgical procedures through continuous data analysis and calibration.

Calibrator agents manage live imaging and fluid control, while transcription agents capture voice input and convert it into structured medical records. And every component operates under clinical compliance standards for interoperability in health data.

Surgeons now work with precise, AI-supported feedback loops that enhance focus and control during procedures. Hospitals collect complete and traceable clinical records, and patients benefit from greater accuracy and safety in complex treatments.

An intelligent foundation for healthcare

Across these initiatives, the global healthcare leader has built a connected ecosystem where intelligence supports every stage of the healthcare value chain.

Researchers and policy experts can respond faster to global developments; engineers and QA teams can validate products with confidence; clinicians can deliver care with real-time insight.

Gen AI has become part of the enterprise fabric – individual business units experiment safely, scale successful initiatives, and create value from data already within their systems.

The organization has established a repeatable model for responsible Gen AI adoption, which enables collaboration, improves operational efficiency, and strengthens the safety and reliability of healthcare delivery worldwide.
