The 2024 theme was ‘Real Smart’

Now that the hype around Generative AI has, according to Gartner, reached “the peak of inflated expectations”, it is time to stop focusing on the technology itself, and start looking for ‘Real Smart’ applications.

To find them, we need to start with building a thorough understanding of human intelligence and determine where artificial machine intelligence can be complementary. Our goal should not be to mimic or replace human intelligence, but rather augment it, envisioning a new form of combined, regenerative intelligence that will benefit all of humanity.

Overview

Why are we all so obsessed with creating an Artificial General Intelligence? Doesn’t our human brain suffice? Why are we trying to build an intelligence that supersedes human intelligence; that is smarter than all of human intelligence? Must have something to do with the realization that our brains have serious shortcomings, for which we would like to find a quick fix. Like a prosthetic for our brains, just like the reading glasses that become so indispensable at a certain age.

We realize that we are smart, but at the same time realize that there are boundaries to that smartness, that there are inherent weaknesses, that our senses can be easily fooled, that our intuition is not infallible, that our memories fade and that are comprehension of complex systems is limited. AI finds it’s value because it does not merely mimic human intelligence, but because it is different. It is good at things where humans are worse.

State of the art sessions

As your organization navigates the evolving landscape of Generative AI, the journey from proof-of-concepts to full-scale enterprise adoption brings a unique set of challenges. Our understanding of new interaction between human and machine, and latest technologies unlocking agentic, action-oriented AI are shifting the boundaries, redefining the shapes of our solutions, and innovating in the white space.

In this State-of-the-Art session, Pierre-Olivier Patin, Sogeti Global CTO for Apps & Cloud Technologies and Paul Lasserre, AWS Head of GenAI partnerships, shared insights on:

  1. New interactions and collaborations between human and machine
  2. How AI technology can be leveraged to create multi-agents and intelligent workflow
  3. Sequencing, orchestrating, and fusing these capabilities as an end-to-end approach to attain sustainable benefits


Together, we embraced the future of a more sustainable world, respectful of our resources and centered around human, empowered with the latest disruptive technologies.

In today’s fast-paced digital landscape, improving productivity in software development and quality engineering is crucial. In our transformative State-of-the-Art session, Antoine Aymer, Sogeti Global CTO for Quality Engineering & Testing, presented how Generative AI (GenAI) can redefine productivity and quality in the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC).

The session Featured an immersive demonstration of five distinct personas – Product Manager, UX Designer / Analyst, Developer, QA Engineer, and Cloud / DevOps Engineer – showcasing their enhanced day-to-day activities through a Gen AI platform.

– Product Manager: Streamlined requirement gathering and project planning.
– UX Designer/Analyst: Accelerated design prototyping and user research analysis.
– Developer: Improved code generation and integration.
– QA Engineer: Enhanced automated testing and bug detection.
– Cloud/DevOps Engineer: Efficient deployment, monitoring, and continuous integration.

Through these demonstrations, attendees witnessed firsthand how Gen AI can augment, accelerate, and improve the fidelity of each persona’s tasks. The seamless handoffs between roles illustrated a cohesive and efficient workflow, highlighting the productivity gains achievable with Gen AI.

The presentation inspired the audience with the art-of-the-possible, grounded in measurable productivity improvements. By showcasing real-world applications and quantifiable benefits, Antoine provided valuable insights into how organizations can harness Gen AI to unlock new levels of efficiency, innovation, and quality in their software development processes.
