A new data platform helps keep workers healthy

Our client needed a data platform that could meet the needs of a varied set of stakeholders. With no clear data management policy or vision, we were starting from scratch, but Sogeti experts worked together with the client team to deliver a comprehensive data solution, producing budget insights and ticking off quick wins in the process.

Making sure Dutch workers are safe on the job

Our client provides occupational health and safety services to organizations throughout the Netherlands, offering guidance and practical solutions to support and promote employee wellbeing. They also help ensure compliance with health regulations to keep working environments safe.

Three main benefits plus a deeper understanding of data management

Thanks to our workshopping model and successful stakeholder engagement, we were able to work together with the client to deliver a mature data platform, allowing them to:

🔹Achieve vital budget insights
🔹Establish key data principles
🔹Unlock advanced data maturity

The Need: Clear and comprehensive data management

The client was looking for a data platform that could support their information needs, now and in the future, as well as meeting the requirements of diverse stakeholders from Commerce, Scientific Research and Finance. With no clear vision for data management and governance, plus insufficient understanding of budget, roles and what implementation itself would entail, the way ahead was unclear. Our experts were ready to step in to define and implement a clear and achievable data strategy.

The Solution: Workshopping for the win

Once on the ground, the team captured insights on the budget needed, roles of existing team members and those required on the project and their capacity, to put together a timeline for transforming the client’s data management systems. Establishing data principles and an object model were quick wins which helped the project gain momentum early on.

Joint workshops with multidisciplinary teams from Finance & Control and Commerce enabled us to gain an accurate shared vision of the information and resources needed and once this was locked down, our experts were ready to roll up their sleeves.

Workshops were again a vital part of our collaboration when it came to stakeholder buy-in, achieved after an eight-week period of intensive collaboration. Together, we worked through the ‘information dream’ to align requirements across different domains, before developing a data platform solution architecture and detailed data management action plan.

The outcome: A data platform that’s fighting fit

With a comprehensive data platform solution, built on solid stakeholder engagement and accurate budget insights, the client can better work towards their goals of ensuring the workplace health and safety of Dutch workers.
