Liberty Latin America (LLA), a prominent telecommunications provider in the Caribbean and Latin American regions, embarked on a transformative journey to modernize its software testing and quality assurance (QA) practices. Operating in a highly competitive and rapidly evolving digital market, LLA recognized the critical need to enhance its software development lifecycle to maintain agility, ensure compliance, and deliver superior customer experiences.
The company identified that traditional testing methods were proving to be increasingly inadequate – lacking scalability, real-time adaptability, and the speed required to support modern DevOps practices. The consequences of inaction would have included slower time-to-market, higher operational costs, and reduced competitiveness.
To address these challenges, LLA partnered with Sogeti, part of Capgemini – leveraging its innovative test services to support an AI-powered quality assurance (AIQA) transformation. By choosing to lead with innovation, LLA positioned itself as a forward-thinking digital telco, committed to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
To underpin the transformation, Sogeti deployed its proprietary Gen AI Amplifier – a cloud-based platform designed to embed Gen AI into every phase of the software development lifecycle. The accelerator, already in use across industries, was tailored to LLA’s needs, integrating seamlessly with their existing DevOps pipelines and tools such as Katalon Studio, Bitbucket, Jira, and PowerBI.
The implementation began with a unified architecture and lean tech stack strategy, ensuring scalability and adaptability across LLA’s diverse digital ecosystem. Together, the partners co-developed a roadmap that prioritized early problem identification and a Shift-Left approach to quality engineering. This included automating requirement analysis, generating functional and compliance-based test scenarios, and executing test cases with minimal manual intervention.
A key innovation was the integration of AI-driven test data lookup and defect prediction, which significantly enhanced test accuracy and issue resolution. Real-time analytics dashboards powered by Grafana and PowerBI provided continuous visibility into test coverage and defect trends, enabling data-driven decision-making.
The project was managed through a collaborative, agile framework. Regular reviews, feedback loops, and knowledge-sharing sessions ensured alignment between technical teams and business stakeholders. The use of self-learning AI models allowed the system to evolve with each iteration, continuously improving test effectiveness and reducing redundancies.
This joint effort not only delivered a robust, end-to-end automated testing environment but also fostered innovation and continuous improvement within LLA. The success of the implementation demonstrated how AI can be strategically embedded into quality engineering to drive efficiency, compliance, and long-term value.
Having transformed LLA’s QA operations with the Gen AI accelerator, the Sogeti team has since helped them develop their own AI-powered solutions. These now play a central role in the company’s software development lifecycle, automating test case generation, execution, and reporting – while ensuring full traceability and compliance. This has significantly reduced manual effort and accelerated development cycles.
Quantifiable results underscore the success of the initiative:
These outcomes have not only improved product quality and time-to-market but also empowered teams to focus on strategic, high-value tasks. The integration of self-learning AI models ensures continuous improvement, while real-time dashboards provide actionable insights into test performance and defect trends.
Beyond operational efficiency, the project has fostered a deeper appreciation for the use of AI within LLA. The technology is now viewed as a collaborative partner, enhancing job satisfaction, upskilling teams, and preparing the organization for future technological advancements. The success of this initiative has instilled confidence in expanding AI tools across other portfolios within LLA, reinforcing AI’s role as a cornerstone of the company’s digital transformation.
The work also won the Best AI Usage in Telecommunications at the 2025 AI awards.
Looking ahead, LLA is poised to deepen its AI integration, exploring new use cases in predictive analytics, compliance automation, and customer experience optimization. The partnership with Sogeti continues to evolve, with both parties committed to driving innovation and delivering long-term value. This project not only met its original objectives but also laid the foundation for a future-ready, AI-augmented enterprise.
