Dr. Matthias Hamburg has been elected as the chair of the ISTQB® Glossary Working Group. The election by ISTQB®’s national Member Boards took place at the general assembly in Singapore on the 18th of March 2016. The mandate for this international position is valid for two years.
“My voluntary engagement in the German Testing Board e.V. and in the international association ISTQB® is motivated by the desire to contribute to software testing professionalism in our society. During the past two years, I successfully contributed as vice-chair to the advancement of the ISTQB® Glossary of Testing Terms. Thanks to implementing innovative technologies, the Glossary Working Group is now in a good position to support the ambitious ISTQB® program for diversifying its learning modules. My main goal for the current election period is to successfully employ this capability with the Group. Moreover, my aim is to establish the ISTQB® Glossary as a main point of reference for the entire software testing community, by means of improved and up-to-date contents, by multilingual features, and by an attractive presentation layer“, commented Matthias Hamburg after the elections.
ISTQB® has created the world’s most successful scheme for certifying software testers. As of June 2015, ISTQB® has issued 410,803 certifications in over 100 countries world-wide, with a growth rate of more than 15,000 certifications per quarter.
Sogeti Germany, a market leader in the area of software testing and quality assurance, has provided ISTQB® accredited Certified Tester training at Foundation Level (CTFL) and at Advanced Level (CTAL) to IT-professionals for a number of years. Sogeti Germany is an ISTQB® Platinum Partner, and the company has supported Dr. Matthias Hamburg for many years in his voluntary activities at the German Testing Board e.V.
