Sogeti provides pilots with new app for unified mobile access

Sogeti Partners with the Allied Pilots Association to Provide Pilots with Unified Mobile Access to Real-Time Trip Data

Dayton, OH, USA, March 15, 2016Sogeti USA, a leader in Information Technology services, was selected by the Allied Pilots Association (APA) to build a mobile application to give pilots easier access to information during flights.

Pilots need a variety of information while flying including flight data, passenger and crew lists, weather updates, manuals, and more. Previously, pilots would bring a lap top on board and would need to access the information from multiple sources.

APA supports over 15,000 pilots and wanted to provide a more convenient option - combining all the important information in one place and allowing the pilots to access it all instantly from their smartphones and tablets.

Sogeti USA has been a trusted partner for APA for over a decade and was selected to lead this important initiative based on their proven success as well as their strong expertise in today’s latest digital technologies, including mobile applications.

The new APA mobile app has been enthusiastically received, with a significant percentage of our pilots already using it,” said Captain Keith Wilson, APA President. “We’re pleased to partner with Sogeti to provide our pilots with convenient access to the resources they need.

Ensuring a seamless user experience for the pilots was the main focus of the project. Sogeti and APA began working on the app last year and first released it to a small group of users to test functionality and incorporate additional features based on their feedback.

Over the past 10 years, we’ve been honored to help APA leverage the latest innovations to improve their business,” Raj Nath, CEO for Sogeti USA remarked. “This mobile application is the first of its kind to give pilots instant access to all the information and tools they need; we are proud to be a part of this important initiative.

The iOS and Android app is now available for all APA pilots to download on the App Store and Google Play.
