Dutch insurance group gets modernized with the help of Sogeti

Background

The client had 24 VB6 applications, which could not be turned off as they had started converting to the Windows 7 Platform few years back. They wanted to reduce the number of platforms, discontinue VB6 and its expertise required for support and development and migrate the applications into their target architecture.

Solution

Sogeti NL acted as single point of contact for the communication with the client. They handled project control, technical architecture, and test co-ordination. Parallely, Sogeti India setup a migration factory with ArtinSoft Migration Tooling to execute activities such as Intake application, available documentation etc. They also installed the existing application (for the benefit of Photo-comparison), provided tool-based analysis and conversion to C#, manual solution of issues related to code migration, and used Prince2 for Project Management and TMAP for System Testing. They also tested the system to deliver as per the client’s expectations.

The client was satisfied with the execution of the project. They accepted the solution which was provided and took care of the deployment and implementation of the migrated application and discarded the outdated environment.
